Welcome to The American Legion Milwaukee Post 18. In our Post
the Veteran is #1 along with his or her family. I hope I can interest you in joining our
Post. Check out our website and see what we have to offer.
Look at our picture album and see
some of the things we do as a legion family. You will find our post is very busy and we
have a lot of fun. We are not a bunch of old Veterans who sit around and play cards and
drink beer. We march in parades, have a color guard, firing squad, visit the Vets at the
VA Hospital and do various
activities at schools just to name a few. Every year we have a family Christmas party, a
family picnic at Wilson Park, and an Officers Installation dinner.
We hold our meetings at the
Milwaukee County War
Memorial Center on the beautiful lake front. There is free parking and quick
freeway access. Our meetings are every third Monday of the month at 7:00pm.
We have refreshments after the meetings. There are no meetings in the summer.
Our only fund raiser is Bingo every Thursday night at 7:00 pm and a
couple of Saturdays each month at 6:30pm. We hold the bingos at the United Seniors Bingo
Hall at 45th & Forest Home Avenue. Our legion family works the bingos.
Our legion family includes the
Ladies Auxiliary Unit 18, Girls Junior Auxiliary Unit 18 and
the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 18. We offer
activities for the entire family. We also sponsor a couple of Boy Scout Troops who help
with the bingos and participate in our parades and other Post functions.
